REDUCE FRICTION!
Landing heavy, breaking on your heels, bounding on your forefoot and pushing off too hard with the toes all create friction.   Excessive pounding creates more shock to your muscles, tendons, and bones.   Land lightly and run smoothly and efficiently. 

Remember, you want to run like a Deer, not a Moose ;-)

  • State Farm Insurance is the new Title Sponsor of the Charlottesville Marathon - Read Press Release
  • APRIL 17TH, 2010 -   The State Farm Charlottesville Marathon, Miller Lite Charlottesville Half Marathon, Arch's Charlottesville 8K Road Championship and Whole Foods Kids Marathon (26.2 Yards, For kids ages 6 months to 5 years!) Registration is now open!   Entries will be limited to the first 3500 entrants.  NOTE:  The Charlottesville Arch's 8K Road Championship will offer over $3200 in cash prizes!
  • Registration is open for the Bel Monte Endurance Runs - 50 Mile, 50K, 25K & 4 Mile.  NEWS:  There will be a cash prize of $500.00 to the first person who breaks 7:50:00 in the 50 Miler and $500.00 to the first Female who breaks 8:20:00.   Note: 2009 race filled by 2/15/09. The dates for the "Bel Monte Training Camp/Clinics" are now on the BMER page.
